I heard a wonderful story yesterday on the news. An Oregon teacher collected about 1100 Happy Meal toys over the course of 25 years in the hopes of selling it and putting the proceeds towards his retirement. When he heard the story of little 4-year old Logan Roninger (pictured above) in need of a wheelchair, he decided his retirement kitty could wait. He auctioned off his collection and donated the money to Logan’s family to help cover the cost.
But wait…it gets better.
The winner of that auction, Ruth Olsen, donated the collection back to him to resell and raise even more money.
It really doesn’t get any better than that.
So this Dad’s day, pay it forward by giving Dad a gift that gives back. From headphones that help restore hearing to those in need, to sunglasses that provide prescription glasses or sight saving surgeries, to belts and golf shirts to benefit the Breast Cancer Alliance, there are so many options that can help someone else enjoy their day…even if they’re not a Dad!
